April 27th, 2024

Ah, the Emmys! The Oscars of TV except more fun. After being pushed back by the strikes, the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Black-ish’s Anthony Anderson, is finally airing early next year on FOX. The usual suspects—Ted Lasso, Succession, White Lotus—are up for awards again in what looks to be a tight race.

If you’re TV nuts like us, then you’ll want to tune in.

Where to watch The Emmy Awards 2023

This year’s Emmy Awards will air exclusively on FOX on January 15, 2024 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a federal holiday) from 8:00 to 11:00 PM ET. It will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.

There are two ways to watch the Emmy Awards 2023: live on FOX or the next day on Hulu.

The Emmy Awards 2023 on Hulu

“What is Hulu?” – said no one after the year 2010, but here is a refresher and a link to subscribe:

Hulu

Hulu may be on the cheaper side at just $7.99/month, but the on-demand streaming service boasts an ever-growing catalog of original series like The Handmaid’s Tale, primetime hits like Modern Family, and BBC imports like Killing Eve. It’s also where you’ll find FX’s critically acclaimed titles like Atlanta, Fargo, and Reservation Dogs. Hulu runs on ads, but if you can’t stand commercials, you can go ad-free for $17.99/month.

HBO-Max leads the race, with Netflix and other streamers following suit

A quick peek at this year’s nominees reveals that this is HBO’s game to lose. The cable-network-turned-streamer dominates as Succession, The Last of Us, and The White Lotus score the most nominations points in the Drama category. All of them, along with House of the Dragon (also HBO), Andor, Better Call Saul, Yellowjackets, and current titleholder The Crown are vying for that coveted Best Drama Series award. It’ll be really funny to see HBO fumble the bag with so many chips in, but we digress.
