Marvel Studios’ Echo is set to premiere early next year, and there’s plenty to be excited about, but let’s start with this being the studio’s return to R-rated glory. Echo is rated TV-MA, and as we can see from the trailer, it promises nonstop action and unapologetic gore, recalling Netflix-Marvel shows like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and The Punisher. Finally!
It’s also the first time Marvel Studios will be dropping a show simultaneously on Disney+ and Hulu (the two will reportedly merge by March next year). And though Echo, played by Alaqua Cox, is by no means a new character (she debuted in Hawkeye), this will be our first dip into her backstory, making her the MCU’s first Native American and deaf superhero. Also, fans will be happy to know that Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) and Daredevil (Charlie Cox, back in his red suit uniform) will also star in the show.
So without further ado, here’s how you can watch Marvel Studio’s Echo.
Where to watch Echo
All five episodes of Echo will drop at once on Disney+ and Hulu on January 9, 2024, at 9:00 PM ET (6:00 PM PT).
It was announced earlier that Echo would be streaming on the 10th, but Disney has clarified via recently released trailers that it would be moving the premiere a day earlier (hey, at least we get an early announcement this time).
There are two ways to watch Echo: on Disney+ or Hulu. If you’re watching on Disney+, don’t forget to set your profile to “TV-MA” to stream.
Echo on Disney+
Disney+ is quickly rising to be the streamer of choice in the US, but in case you’re not subscribed yet, here’s a rundown:
Disney+
The on-demand streaming service Disney+ gives you access to thousands of films and TV shows not just from Disney itself, but from partner studios like Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, National Geographic, and ABC. It's a giant umbrella of content for a fairly reasonable price of $7.99/month with ads and $13.99/month without, but if you want even more, Disney+ offers premium add-ons you can stack to your plan, as well as the famous Trio bundle, which gives you Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ at a discounted price.
Echo on Hulu
“What is Hulu?” – said no one after the year 2010, but here is a refresher and a link to subscribe:
Hulu
Hulu may be on the cheaper side at just $7.99/month, but the on-demand streaming service boasts an ever-growing catalog of original series like The Handmaid’s Tale, primetime hits like Modern Family, and BBC imports like Killing Eve. It’s also where you’ll find FX’s critically acclaimed titles like Atlanta, Fargo, and Reservation Dogs. Hulu runs on ads, but if you can’t stand commercials, you can go ad-free for $17.99/month.
