Christmas is just around the corner, and while most people prefer to sink into a cozy romantic comedy or delight in a wholesome family film, some of us want nothing more than to hole up in bed and binge the latest, darkest, and most gruesome true crime drama.

This week, that would be the second season of Dr. Death. The Peacock anthology series based on the hit podcast of the same name dramatizes the most disturbing medical malpractices in the country. This season, the show is shining light on the curious case of Dr. Paolo Macchiarini (Édgar Ramírez), an Italian surgeon and medical researcher whose “miraculous” operations prove to be less successful than announced. The series is also a love con of sorts as it dives into Macchiarini’s manipulative romance with broadcast journalist Benita Alexander (Mandy Moore).

Where to watch Dr. Death season 2

The new season of Dr. Death will be available to stream on Peacock starting December 21st. All eight episodes will drop at once, which means you can watch the entire season overnight.

On the same day, Peacock will also be premiering a companion documentary, Dr. Death: Cutthroat Conman, which tells the true story of Macchiarini.

Right now, there’s only one way to watch Dr. Death season 2: on Peacock.

Peacock famously used to offer viewers a free way to watch their favorite shows online. But even though it no longer has a zero-cost option, it’s still home to a lot of must-watch titles.

Season 1 was a compelling but stomach-churning watch

The first season of Dr. Death told the true story of neurosurgeon Christopher Duntsch (Joshua Jackson), who mutilated his patients and even killed some of them. It had a stellar cast that included Alec Baldwin and Christian Slater, as well as a slow but stirring script that effectively brought the grim truth of the case to the forefront.

Season 2 is making a risky move by leaning more into romance than the first season, but we’ll see soon if it pays off.
