As picturesque as the Northern England farms are, you can’t set your drama in the 1930s and not expect tragedy to strike. But the way All Creatures Great and Small incorporates realism into its cozy nest of a world is nothing short of impressive. Despite the troubles and ache season 3 introduced (and which season 4 will surely ramp up) it managed to shore up some of the most comforting and heartwarming stories you’ll find on TV.
